Explain the parable of the rich man and Lazarus and the eternal hell fire.
Explain the parable of the rich man and Lazarus and the eternal hell fire. If we try to interpret this parable literally we get into all sorts of trouble. The primary lesson is not on the state of the dead or hell, but it is about God's people not sharing the gospel with those who don't know the gospel.
Fate of the Wicked
Most people believe in hell, but what it is and when it happens and how it works leaves many wondering if it is a real place. What does the Bible say about hell and the wicked?
Hell, Pt. 1
Is it true that hell will burn forever? Will God burn sinners through the ceaseless ages of eternity? What is the purpose of hell? This Bible talk delves deeply into Scripture on this topic.
How can the smoke of a sinners' torment rise forever?
How can the smoke of a sinners' torment rise forever? If we take this literally, it would be a hideous thought to picture the saved looking over the walls of the New Jerusalem. There is a lake of fire, the wicked will be punished, but in the end they will be consumed. The results will be forever.
In the Apostles' Creed, why does it say Jesus descended into hell?
In the Apostles' Creed, why does it say Jesus descended into hell? The Apostle's Creed is not Scripture, but a summary of faith. The word hell does not always a place of suffering or torment. Sometimes it means the grave.
Is hell eternal?
Is hell eternal? There are two principal views among Christians. It is clear the wicked will be punished. One view is that the wicked will be ultimately destroyed. The other is that the wicked burn eternally. The latter view can be traced to the Dark Ages and a way to motivate people to give money. It grew out of Greek mythology.
Is there a biblical purgatory?
Is there a biblical purgatory? There is no Scripture that mentions purgatory or that once a person dies that they can be saved by virtue of something a living person can do. It's a false teaching used by the church to control salvation.
No Place to Hide - Part 1
One of the most sobering questions asked in the Bible is, 'What shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?' The very reputation of God Himself is at stake in the answer to this question. A wrong answer has created a view of God that is distorted. What does the Bible teach on this subject?
Please explain what the second death is spoken of in the book of Revelation
Revelation chapter 20 says that death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and that this is the second death. What does this mean?
The Lake of Fire
Good news about Hell and our loving God.
Why do pastors scare people about hell?
Why do pastors scare people about hell? Pastors will try to motivate people and go beyond what the Bible teaches about hell. There is clearly the teaching of hell in the Bible, but there are unbiblical ideas about what is hell.
